This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to complete the investigation and to file a final report in Crime No.625/2014 on the file of respondent police, The Inspector of Police, Sunguvarcatram Police Station, Kancheepuram District within a stipulated period.

2. The petitioner's mother-in-law has lodged a complaint as against this petitioner and the same was registered in Crime No.625/2014 for the offence under section 174(3) Cr.P.C. on 20.12.2014. But till date, there is no progress in the investigation. Hence, he has come forward with the present petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.625/2014 and file a final report as early as possible.

5. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
