O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioners in line with the relevant Government Orders with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.G.Bala, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the 1st respondent and Mr.N.Umapathi, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent.

3.The petitioners were appointed as Computer Operators in the erstwhile Panchayat which was subsequently absorbed in Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation. The further 2/6

case of the petitioners is that similarly placed persons who were working in Chennai Corporation were granted regularization on completion of three years of service consequent upon the relevant Government Orders. The challenge that was made by the Corporation in this regard was also rejected by the Division Bench of this Court and accordingly, the necessary relief was granted by the Chennai Corporation. 4.The petitioners who are also placed on par with those persons, sought for the regularization in line with the relevant Government Orders and the order passed by the Division Bench in W.P.No.1615 of 2018 dated 23.11.2023. The representation made by the petitioner was considered and the proposal has already been forwarded by the 2nd respondent to the 1st respondent as early as in the year 2019. Thereafter, several communications have transpired and in spite of the same, the relief sought for by the petitioners has not been granted. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition came to be filed before this Court.

5.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the relevant Government Orders that were passed in G.O.(2D)No.64, dated 08.08.2019 and G.O.(2D)No.68, dated 27.08.2019 and also the order passed by the Division Bench in W.P.No.1615 of 2018 dated 23.11.2023 and the proposal that has already been forwarded 3/6

by the 2nd respondent to the 1st respondent, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the joint representation made by the petitioners on 10.08.2024 and deal with the same in the light of the observations made by this Court and appropriate order shall be passed by the 1st respondent, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.The petitioners are directed to make individual representation to the 1st respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. A copy of the representation shall also be marked to the 2nd respondent. 7.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
