ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This criminal contempt proceedings was initiated pursuant to the directions issued by a learned single Judge of this Court in C.R.P.No.1603 of 2019 on 21.06.2021.
2. It may be relevant to extract paragraph No.18 of the order passed in C.R.P.No.1603 of 2019 on 21.06.2021:
"18. However, the culprits who played fraud on this Court should be brought to light and be punished. Hence this Court directs the Additional Commissioner of Police (Central Crime Branch), Chennai, to investigate the issue and thereafter register an FIR against the culprits who had done this mischief. This Court also directs the Registry to place these papers before the Hon'ble Advocate General to initiate criminal contempt as against the said Advocate Mr.Ramesh who had filed O.A.No.307 of 2018."
3. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel on both sides submitted that the learned single Judge has recalled the order dated 21.06.2021 passed in C.R.P.No.1603 of 2019 on a review application in Rev.Appln.No.43 of 2022 on 29.03.2022 as under: "11. Accordingly, with a view to afford opportunity of hearing and to comply with the principles of natural justice, the order passed in Paragraph Nos.18 and 19 alone in C.R.P.No.1603 of 2019 dated 21.06.2021 is recalled and the present Review Application is allowed to the extent indicated above. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs. Registry is directed to list the Civil Revision Petition before this Court on 11.04.2022." 2/3
In view of the above, this Contempt Petition stands closed and the respondent is discharged.
