ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for having willfully disobeyed the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.274 of 2019 dated 07.01.2019.

2. The learned counsel for the respondent forwarded the order dated 12.12.2019 in Proc.No.14851/85/B4/TVLR passed by the Special Officer, Tamil Nadu Waqf Board,

Chennai. In the said order, it had been stated as follows: "10. All the significant charges arrayed by the complaint has already been dealt in the show cause notice dated 11.11.2019 issued to the President and the Vice President. The two delinquents have already submitted their explanations. I have examined both parties today and have come to conclusion that detailed inquiry is warranted in this case on the charges already been framed. The inquiry should be made by giving opportunity to the other committee members also. Therefore, the Chief Executive Officer, Tamil Nadu Waqf Board is hereby appointed as an Enquiry Officer under Section 71(1)(b) of the Waqf Act 1995 to make detailed inquiry on the charges and give specific findings on each of the charges. He shall, upon return from leave, conduct the inquiry expeditiously and submit report giving specific findings on each charge.

11. By consent, it is hereby ordered that the cheques shall be signed jointly

by the President and the Treasurer of the Waqf instead of the current practice of signing by the President and the Vice President of the Waqf. In case any further dispute arises out of this, further action in accordance with law will be taken in due course. Further, the president of the Waqf is hereby ordered to conduct Executive Committee meeting within two weeks from the date of this order.

The Inspector of Waqfs, Poonamallee is directed to attend the said Executive Committee meeting as an observer".

3. In view of the said fact, nothing survives in the Contempt Petition and accordingly, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
