This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.05.2025, and thereby allot one vacant shop in the Koyambedu wholesale fruit market complex to the petitioner.

2. With the consent of both side counsels the main writ petition is taken up for disposal.

3. The petitioner for the past 19 years is conducting wholesale business in vegetables and fruits at Koyambedu market under the name and style of SVS vegetables at Shop No.D-101, Periyar Wholesale Vegetable market complex, Koyambedu, Chennai. While so, the petitioner on coming to know that some shops were kept vacant in the Koyambedu wholesale fruit market complex, submitted a representation on 09.05.2025, to the respondents seeking issuance of license, allotment or sale of the vacant shops. Since the respondents failed to act on the petitioner's representation, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for by the writ petitioner, this Court is of the view that it would suffice if a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation. Accordingly, this Court directs 3/6

the first respondent, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.05.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
