ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioners who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 08.12.2021 for the offences under Sections 273, 328 of IPC r/w 7(1) 20 (1) of COTPA act in crime No.534 of 2021, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners found an illegal possession of 3645 kgs of contraband Tobacco Products. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that petitioners were no way connected in this case and they were falsely implicated in this case. He further submits that they were suffering incarceration for more than 10 days from 08.12.2021. He would pray for grant of bail to the petitioners.

4. The learned Government Advocated (Crl.side) raised objection stating that petitioners found an illegal possession 3645 kgs of contraband Tobacco Products worth about Rs.23,00,000/-. Hence, he vehemently opposed the grant of bail.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the huge quantity of contraband Tobacco products involved in this case which need detailed investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. -sd/- 23/12/2021 This order, on being produced, be punctually observed and carried into execution by all concerned TRUE COPY Sub-Assistant Registrar (Statistics/C.S.) High Court, Madras - 600 104.
