O R D E R

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to make payment in accordance with the work order dated 19.11.2015 for installation of high mast lighting in 6 places around Veppur and for consequential order.

2. The case of the petitioner is that, in November 2015 the respondent issued a work order to the petitioner for installation of high mast lighting at six places under the respondent Panchayat Union. Though subsequently the work order was cancelled, as against which, when the petitioner approached this Court by filing a writ petition in W.P.No.17460 of 2017, the said writ petition was allowed by order dated 26.04.2021, thereby the work order given to the petitioner, according to the petitioner counsel, has been restored. Pursuant to which, the petitioner claimed to have undertaken the work or completed the installation of six high mast lighting and handed over the same

to the Village Panchayat concerned on 23.07.2021.

Now the grievance of the petitioner is that, in respect of the completion of the said work, the bills raised by the petitioner is yet to be cleared by the respondent Panchayat Union and in this regard, the petitioner has given a representation on 07.10.2021, which also since was not considered by the respondent, he approached this Court by filing the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

4. Heard Ms.Abirami, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, who having reiterated the aforesaid, would seek indulgence of this Court to issue a direction to the respondent.

Heard Mr.S.Ravi Kumar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, who would submit that, if at all the petitioner is entitled to get any amount against the bill raised by the petitioner as claimed by him through his representation dated 07.10.2021, that would be considered and accordingly the representation of the petitioner would be decided on merits and a decision would be communicated to him within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

Considering the said submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order: That there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.10.2021 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
