PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to extend the time for payment of deposit of 20 percentage of the compensation amount to the credit of C.C. No.8558 of 2018 passed in Crl.M.P. No.25780 of 2022 in C.A. No.380 of 2022 on 23.12.2022, by the Principal Sessions Court, Chennai.

ORDER

The conditional order of deposit of 20% of the compensation amount within 60 days from the date of admission of the Criminal Appeal i.e., 23.12.2022 not been complied and the present Original Petition is filed for extension of time.

2. The petition for extension of time is filed after expiry of the time. This Court finds no reason or merits to entertain the petition for extension of time to pay 20% of compensation amount as ordered by the lower appellate Court. However, to afford him an opportunity, if the petitioner deposits the compensation amount on or before 12.10.2023 of this month, the suspension of sentence shall stay in force or else, deemed to be recalled for non compliance of the condition.

3. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
