O R D E R

The petitioner/A1 herein, a professional extortionist with 48 cases pending against him, including six murder cases, is before this Court seeking bail in Crime No.159 of 2025 registered on the file of the respondent Police for the alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 308(5), 309(4), 311 & 351(2) of BNS.

2. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint given by one Abdul Rasak, alleging that the petitioner herein, through one Muneer, demanded Rs.2 lakhs and threatened him with dire consequences if the money is not parted. The de facto complainant, who runs a fitness center on the outskirts of Vellore town, had been subjected to intimidation and extortion, which forms the sum and substance of the complaint.

3. It is very unfortunate that the petitioner, a notorious person, has been able to threaten the de facto complainant and made him to appear before this Court today to report that he wants to withdraw the compliant. The presence of the de facto complainant in this Court and being introduced by the learned counsel for the petitioner, clearly shows that the threat and fear instilled in the mind of the de facto complainant, who lost faith in the system and seeks to make 2/4

peace with the perpetrator of the crime by personally coming to the Court, taking all pains and reporting his intention to withdraw the complaint.

4. This Court takes cognizance of the extra judicial method adopted by the petitioner to undermine the judicial process. Hence, the jurisdictional Police is directed to register a complaint and investigate the matter in respect of tampering evidence and influencing the witness.

5. In so far as the petition for bail, on considering the above facts, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
