This is a petition filed by the petitioner seeking to direct the respondents to conduct investigation and file the final report in Crime No. 129 of 2018 on the file of the second respondent police.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the first information report was registered as a "man missing" case and that a closure report was filed before the concerned Court as 'undetected'.

3. In the considered view of this Court, a "man missing" case can never be closed as "undetected" and that is only a stage in the investigation. The respondent police has to necessarily follow the guidelines of this Court in the case of K.Sukumari Vs. Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District, Virudhunagar and Others [reported in 2018 (2) LW (Crl.) 636]. 2/4

4. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
