This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the respondentPolice to file a charge sheet in Crime No.169 of 2025 on the file of the respondent in accordance with law within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the case in Crime No.169 of 2025 was registered against the accused persons for the offences punishable under Sections 318(4), 316(2), 318(2), 3(5) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 on 22.03.2025, but so far the respondent-Police had not taken any steps to expedite the investigation and file charge sheet. Hence, the present petition.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents-Police, on instructions, submitted that investigation in Crime No.169 of 2022 is under progress. Since two of the accused, who are involved in the alleged offences are abroad, the respondent-Police are taking steps to bring them to India and hence, he seeks time to complete the investigation and file the charge sheet.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent-Police to expedite the investigation and file a charge2/4

sheet within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
