Based on the complaint given by one Ravichandran, a case in Crime No. 301 of 2025 was registered for the alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 309(4), 311 & 351(3) of BNS on the file of the respondent. The petitioner was arrested on 15.07.2025.

According to the prosecution, on 10.07.2025, at about 6.00 p.m., when the de facto complainant, along with his friend, was on his way near Droupathi Amman temple, the petitioner and others waylaid him and demanded mamool. At knife point, the accused snatched gold chain, cell phone and ATM card and under threat, obtained the PIN number from the de facto complainant. Later, using the ATM card, a sum of Rs.86,000/- was withdrawn from the ATM.s
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) opposed the bail petition, stating that so far only 27 grams of gold has been recovered and the money has not yet been recovered. All the accused are in judicial custody and the investigation is still pending. The investigation conducted so far indicates that the money and the remaining gold have been secreted and are yet to be recovered. Further, this petitioner/A3 has one previous case.
4. Considering the fact that the investigation is at a crucial stage, this Court is of the view that if the petitioner is released on bail, he may distort the evidence. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 11.08.2025 ham 2/4
