Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to cancel the classification of R.S.No.74/1, Old S.No.59-A measuring 0.86.00 Hectares as Punjai Anadheenam as found in the A-Registrar and to restore the classification of the same as Noyal River as per Survey and Re-Settlement Register of the Village of Agrahara Kathanganni.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The grievance as ventilated through this Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is that though the petitioner has made a representation with concrete material justifying need for change in the classification of the land in dispute, his representation filed on 30.09.2024 has remained unattended.
2. On instructions, learned State counsel would submit that, as per G.O.Ms.No.385, dated 17.08.2004, such application/representation seeking change of classification is required to be decided by the District Revenue Officer.
3. We find that the District Collector, Tirupur has already directed the Tahsildar, Uthukuli Taluk to conduct an enquiry.
4. Taking into consideration the aforesaid material on record and the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, we are inclined to direct the Tahsildar, Uthukuli Taluk to complete the enquiry, if not already conducted, and take appropriate decision on the
petitioner's representation within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
