Heard Mr.C.Prakasam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.J.Shivakumar, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and with the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for disposal.

2.The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to release the JCB Lorry bearing Registration No.AP-26-R-5523 seized by the Deputy Director of Mines, Kancheepuram, Kancheepuram District on 20.10.2016 to him.

3.Though the petitioner seeks for a positive direction, it is seen that the petitioner's representation for release of vehicle dated 21.10.2016, is pending with the respondent. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to issue any positive direction. However, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.10.2016 and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
