According to the petitioner, a road is going to be laid by the Tamil Nadu Highways Department.

2. A perusal of the paper shows that the second respondent CMDA has decided to exercise its power under section 17(2) of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act and has proposed a road to a width of 10 meters in the area occupied by the petitioners. Highways Department has nothing to do with this proceedings. Hence, writ miscellaneous petition to implead Highways Department is dismissed.
