Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to act upon the representation of the petitioner dated 16.08.2019 in accordance with law and consequently, transfer the petitioner to any one of the following colleges viz., 1) Dr.MGR Government Arts and Science College, Seerkazhi, 2) Dharmapuram Gnanambikai Government Women's Arts College, Mayiladuthurai, 3) Periyar Government Arts College, Cuddalore 4) Government Arts and Science College, Manalmedu in the light of the letter in (Ms) No.92/S/09 dated 22.07.2009 (Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department) and the communication of the 2nd respondent in Na.Ka.No.49843/C3/2018, dated 19.12.2018.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Assistant Professor in Annamalai University in the Business Administration Department in the year 2006. Thereafter, the petitioner was transferred to Muthurangam Arts College, Vellore. He suffered 80% disability and his native place is at Cuddalore. The petitioner has made several representations to the respondents requesting them to transfer him to the place, which is near to his residence. Finally, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 16.08.2019 to the respondents. However, the petitioner's representation was not considered by the respondents till date. Hence this writ petition.
4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time.
5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
