O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to grant adequate protection and permission to conduct the Sri Anjaneyar Jayanthi Vizha for Arulmighu Sri Anjaneyar Temple temporarily situated at Mullamparappu, 46 Pudhur, Erode Taluk and District which is scheduled to be held on 02.01.2022 at 06.00 a.m. and 03.01.2022 at 04.30 p.m., by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.12.2021.

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner had sent a representation to the authorities through post on 11.12.2021, for conducting cultural programme for Sri Anjaneyar Jayanthi Vizha.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that it is a cultural programme to be conducted along with bhajans and procession to be taken. Despite receiving the representation by post, no action taken by the respondent police.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the representation of the petitioner received by post. To verify the veracity of the representation, background of the petitioner, persons involved and the issues involved have to be ascertained only on the examination of the petitioner and recording of the statement. In view of the same, the presence of the petitioner is required.

5.Considering the submissions and on perusal of materials, this Court directs the petitioner to appear before the second respondent police along with the copy of the representation. Thereafter, the second respondent police is directed to take appropriate action, by taking into consideration of the ground situation and the COVID pandemic situation prevailing in the locality.

6.With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
