ORDER

This contempt petition has been filed praying to punish the respondents for violating the orders of this Court in W.P.No. 18253 of 2023 dated 29.07.2024, thereby the respondents had been directed to continue the selection process to fill up the posts of Assistant Professor in accordance with the earlier order passed in GO.ms.No.56 Higher Education (F2) 2/4

Department dated 21.03.2020 based on the selection process already initiated and processed by the proceedings of the second respondent dated 12.02.2021 in respect of the petitioners and to complete the same within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of that order. 2.

Today, respondents 1 & 2 / contemnors 1 & 2 are present before this Court. It is seen that as against the order order passed by this Court, the respondents preferred writ appeals in WA.No.1199 of 2024, etc batch, in which the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court, by order dated 26.06.2025, ordered that the respondents will keep 1146 posts earmarked for regular absorption for Guest Lecturers vacant and selection process for others can go on.

Therefore, the contempt petition is closed at present. However, the petitioners are at liberty to revive the contempt petition subject to the result of the aforementioned writ appeals.
