O R D E R

This petition has been filed for a direction to the third respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner dated 19.08.2023 wherein the petitioner has sought for police protection.

2. Heard Mr.S.Kaithamalai Kumaran, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents.

3. It is seen from the records that the petitioner has already given a complaint and based on the same, an FIR was registered by the third respondent in Cr.No.570 of 2023 on 24.07.2023. According to the petitioner, he is facing a potential life threat and hence, he sought for police protection before the third respondent by making the representation on 19.08.2023 and the same was not acted upon. 4.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to give a complaint in person to the third respondent and the third respondent shall act upon the 2/4

same and take a decision within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the complaint. In the meantime, the investigation in Cr.No.570 of 2023 shall also be expedited and effective steps shall be taken against the accused persons.

This writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
