ORDER

(1)Mr.R.Thamaraiselvan, learned Standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent of both the counsels the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. (2)The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the Respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.05.2025 for the conversion of the shop No N/P-33 to T/D/P-25 to an extent of 40 Sq.ft situated in Periyar Vegetable Market, Koyembedu Wholesale Market Complex, Koyembedu, Chennai 600 107, in accordance with the orders passed by this Court in WP.No.4004 of 2000 dated 08.03.2000 within the time limit prescribed by this Court.

(3)The petitioner's principal applied for the allotment of shop in Koyambedu Market and paid the entire consideration for the same. The petitioner was allotted Shop No.N/P-33 to an extent of 30 sq.ft. Since the shop allotted to the petitioner was located in the interior part of the Complex, the petitioner was not able to recover the capital invested by him. The petitioner states that similarly placed shop owners of Shop Nos.L, M and N of the ''Vyaabarigal Nala Sangam'' filed WP.No.4004/2000 before this Court for conversion of the shops in the market and the said writ petition was allowed by a Division Bench of this Court on 08.03.2000, with certain observations. The petitioner therefore submitted a representation to the respondent on 02.05.2025, for conversion of the shop allotted to him. As the petitioner's representation was not considered, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

(4)Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. (5)Under the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited prayer in the writ petition, a direction is issued to the respondent to consider

and pass order on the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2025, seeking conversion of shop, on merits and in accordance with law and in the light of the order passed by this Court in WP.No.4004/2000 dated 08.03.2000 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner.
