JUDGMENT

This Criminal Appeal has been filed seeking to set aside the judgment passed by the learned Special Judge, Special Court for trial of cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Coimbatore, in Spl.C.C.No.24 of 2012, by order dated 16.12.2021.

2. Learned counsel for the appellant submitted that the appellant passed away on 18.06.2022. He further submitted that he was instructed by the legal heirs of the deceased/appellant that they are not interested in pursuing the appeal and prayed that the appeal may be closed.

3. The learned Special Judge, Special Court for trial of cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, Coimbatore, has also sent a letter to the Registry in this regard stating that the sole appellant died on 18.06.2022 and has also forwarded the Death Certificate of the appellant. 2/4

4. Recording the submissions made by the learned counsel for the appellant in regard to the demise of the appellant, this Criminal Appeal stands dismissed as abated.
