O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 11.12.2023, wherein, the petitioner has sought for pensionary/retirement benefits. 2.Heard Mr.R.Chandrasekaran, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.P.Balathandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3.The case of the petitioner is that her husband was working as a Special Sub Inspector in the Police Department. He died in harness on 18.07.2020. After his demise, the petitioner and her children were not able to sustain themselves and they were making repeated representation to the respondents to settle all the retirement benefits and also to grant family pension. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 2/4

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 11.12.2023 and pass orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner shall make a fresh representation to the 3rd respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. If ultimately, the petitioner is entitled for the terminal benefits and also for the family pension, the process of settling the same shall be commenced immediately, since the petitioner and her children are virtually without any income after the demise of the breadwinner of the family.
