O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the fourth respondent to implement the construction of a pedestrain footpath/walkway connecting the Light Motor Vehicle subway in Radha Nagar Main Road, Chromepet to the Chromepet Railway Station platform Nos.2 and 3 based on the Letter No.37/2024/Eva A/dated 05.07.2024 issued by the first respondent and by considering the representation dated 26.06.2025 made by the petitioner to the fourth respondent.

2. Heard both sides.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner association has been formed with the object of ensuring the welfare and wellness of the residents of Zone 2 and 3 of Tambaram City Corporation and its members are accessing the railway station as well as the bus stop. She added

that the first respondent confirmed through his letter for construction of pedestrian footpath on 05.07.2024 however, no progress in this regard and hence the petitioner made a representation dated 26.06.2025 to the respondents in regard to construction of a pedestrian footpath / walkway connecting the Light Motor Vehicle Subway in Radha Nagar Main Road, Chromepet to Chromepet Railway Station platform by ventilating their grievances and necessity of the same to access the railway station.

The learned Deputy Solicitor General of India appearing on behalf of the respondents 2 to 4 submitted that the respondents have taken steps effectively so as to provide proper facilities to all commuters, who are accessing the railway station, however, he submitted that even then, the representation of the petitioner's association will be considered.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also by taking note of the submissions made by the respective learned counsels, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.06.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. There shall be no orders as to costs.
