ORDER

The petitioners have come forward with this petition under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, to call for the records in Crime No.1 of 2015 pending on the file of the Inspector of Police W1, All Women Police Station, Chennai 600 006 and quash the same.

2.Today (06.04.2016), the first petitioner, the second respondent, their respective counsel and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor were present and their identification is also https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

verified by this Court. The second respondent filed an affidavit stating that even though the case has been registered against the petitioners for the offences punishable under Sections 498(A) and 406 of lPC r/w. Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act since the matter has been compromised, she does not want to pursue the case further.

3.Considering the nature of allegation and also considering the affidavit filed by the second respondent, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served by allowing the case to proceed with. Therefore, the entire proceedings in Crime No.1 of 2015 on the file of the first respondent, namely, Inspector of Police W1, All Women Police Station, Thousand Lights, Chennai 600 006 is hereby, quashed.
