A decree under challenge is one for payment of money, there will be an order of stay of execution of the decree pending appeal on condition, the appellant deposits a sum of Rs.15,00,000/- to the credit of the suit in OS No.2136 of 2019 on the file of the XXIII Additional City Civil Court, Chennai, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, failing which the stay will stand automatically vacated. On such deposit, the Trial Court is directed to invest the money in an interest bearing fixed deposit with the Indian Bank, High Court Branch, initially for a period of two years with an automatic renewal option.
