2/6 PRAYER Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to conduct and complete the enquiry pursuant to the Letter bearing No.2413766/ 2024/ C2 dated 12.06.2025 and further direct the 1st respondent to grant permission / NOC to the petitioners to run a prayer hall and conduct prayers at Site 1 and 2, Survey No.497/2A, Pichanur Village, Madhukarai Taluk, Coimabtore District in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to take a decision on the request made by the petitioners who are seeking for permission/No Objection Certificate to run a prayer hall in subject property.
3/6 2.Heard Mr.Richardson Wilson, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, Mr.C.Velu, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.V.Meganathan, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the 4th respondent. 3.It is seen from records that on receipt of the application submitted by the petitioners, the 1st respondent has directed the 2nd and 3rd respondents to conduct an enquiry and to submit a report through communication dated 12.06.2025. The grievance of the petitioners is that there has been absolutely no progress and therefore, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner and take a decision on its own merits and in accordance with law and convey the same to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
