ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, directing the respondent not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has given a complaint against one Sivagurunathan on certain allegations of commission of criminal offences. The grievance of the petitioner is that in the guise of enquiry, the respondent police is harassing the complainant himself and hence, he has filed this petition, seeking direction against the respondent not to harass him.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, an FIR has been registered in Crime No.375 of 2022 on the file of the respondent and the enquiry is now being conducted in the FIR.

5. Since no complaint is pending against the petitioner, there is no question of harassing him. However, the petitioner is duty bound to appear before the respondent police in order to support the materials relating to the

complaint given by him. It is also equally obligatory on the part of the respondent police not to call the petitioner repeatedly in the guise of enquiry and make him to wait in the police station by spoiling his other routines and commitments.

6. With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
