PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take immediate appropriate action to run the school situated at Kalignar M.S.Muthukrishnan Primary School, Esani Moorthy Koil Street, Tiruvatriyur, Chennai - 600 019, Additional Asst. Elementary School Education Officer, Puzhal, Chennai, District Educational Officer, Tiruvallur district continuously.

O R D E R
(Order of the Court was delivered by N.KIRUBAKARAN, J) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take appropriate action to run the school viz., Kalignar M.S.Muthukrishnan Primary School situated at, Esani Moorthy Koil Street, Tiruvatriyur, Chennai - 600 019.
2.Pursuant to the orders passed by this Court, the students have been accommodated in the nearby school and further, this Court has also directed to construct a foot-over bridge so that the students as well as pedestrians could easily cross in view of heavy traffic. Though the direction has been given by this Court as early as on 26.04.2017 to construct a foot-over bridge in co-ordination with the Public Works Department and Corporation authorities, nothing has been done. 2/4
3.Therefore, time is granted to take a decision with regard to the construction of foot-over bridge within a period of three months and accordingly implement the decision taken within the said time frame. Till a decision is taken with regard to the construction, an electronic signal should be erected in the said place within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Further, a traffic constable is directed to be posted regularly there. For implementing the orders of this Court, all the concerned departments viz., Police Department, Public Works Department, Highways Department etc., are directed to co-operate with the Corporation. 4.With these observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
