Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to register the settlement deed in Doc.No.P201500212 dated 28.12.2015 and presented for registration on 28.12.2015 and return the original document of settlement deed after due registration to the petitioner.

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the the respondent to register the settlement deed in Doc.No.P201500212 dated 28.12.2015 and presented for registration on 28.12.2015 and return the original document of settlement deed after due registration to the petitioner.

2.Today when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the document is in the custody of the District Registrar and hence, the petitioner may appear before the District Registrar and put forward his case.

3.In such view of the matter, the District Registrar, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, is directed to issue notice to the petitioner and call for an explanation and after hearing the petitioner, pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law. within a period of one month from the date of receipt https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
