Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to disburse all terminal benefits to the petitioner along with interest @ 12% per annum within stipulated time fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking direction to direct the respondents to disburse all terminal benefits to the petitioner along with interest @ 12% per annum within stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was appointed as a Clerk in Raja Canal lift irrigation co-operative society. After several years, the petitioner was retired from the service on 30.06.2019. Even after the retirement, the terminal benefits were not settled. Hence, the petitioner filed a Writ Petition before this Court.

3.After taking notice, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents produced a letter dated 11.10.2019, wherein it is held that the petitioner was retired from the service on 30.06.2019 and no disciplinary proceedings is pending against him and the respondents have decided to settle the retirement benefits in favour of the petitioner within a reasonable time. Further, it is stated they have sent a letter to the Deputy Registrar of Co-Operative Societies, Namakkal Circle for obtaining administrative sanction.

4.In view of the aforesaid letter, I am inclined to issue direction to direct the respondents to settle the terminal benefits within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above observation and direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
