This petition has been filed to issue necessary modification to the interim order dated 31.07.2024 in W.P.No.22249 of 2024.

2. Heard both sides.

3. Considering the submissions made on either side, the interim order already granted by this Court dated 31.07.2024 is modified as follows :- As per the revised seniority list, the 1st petitioner alone is eligible to be promoted to the post of Superintendent. The petitioners 2 to 11 are not eligible for promotion as per the revised seniority list. Therefore, the respondents are directed to keep ten posts as vacant in the post of Superintendent and proceed promotion to other eligible persons. The estimated vacancy to the post of Superintendent is 171. The actual vacancy is 159. Out of 159, ten vacancies in the place of 1 to 106 as per the revised seniority list. It is made clear that if the petitioners succeeded in the writ petition, they shall be fit in the post of superintendent above their juniors with all consequential benefits.

4. Accordingly, this petitions is ordered. The respondents are directed to file counter within a period of two weeks and co-operate for final hearing of this writ petition.
