ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to conduct further investigation for all the offences committed by the accused pursuant to Crime No.48 of 2025 on the file of 1/4
the respondent police.
Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that on receipt of the complaint given by the Sub Registrar, Sub Registrar Office, Avadi, a case in Cr.No.48 of 2025 has been registered by the respondent police with regard to the trust of the petitioner. The accused have committed an offence of impersonation and forgery. However, the respondent police have not conducted a proper investigation and thereby present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to conduct further investigation for all the offences committed by the accused. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that based on the complaint given by the Sub Registrar, Sub Registrar Office, Avadi, a case in Crime No.48 of 2025 has been registered for the offences under Sections 420 and 471 IPC. He would further submit that in this case, investigation is still pending and hence there is no question of further investigation and thereby this petition seeking further investigation is not maintainable. 2/4
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent police and perused the materials on record.
Admittedly investigation is pending in Crime No.48 of 2025, which has been registered based on the complaint given by the Sub Registrar, Avadi. In such circumstances, the question of ordering further investigation would not arise.
Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. However, it is made clear that during the course of investigation, if any offences come to light, the matter shall be proceeded further in accordance with law.
