This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to issue non traceable certificate in respect of the missing Sale Deeds bearing Document No.911/2011 dated 22.06.2011 and Document No.261/2011 dated 14.02.2011, on the file of Sub Registrar, Karimangalam, based on the petitioner's complaint dated 09.09.2022.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the complaint has been given by the petitioner on 09.09.2022 by alleging that his original Sale Deeds vide Document Nos.No.911/2011 and 261/2011, on the file of the Sub Registrar, Karimangalam, were lost while he was travelling on 10.08.2022 in a bus from his house to Karimangalam. The grievance of the petitioner is that so far the missing certificates was not given.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent attracted the attention of this Court about the Circular in 2/5
Rc.No.2029209/General.1(1)/2022 issued by the Director General of Police for issuing non traceable certificate on receipt of the petition for loss of original land documents.

According to the petitioner, he has produced all the documents stated in the above said Circular issued by the Director General of Police but the respondent police has not considered the same and issued the non traceable certificates. If the petitioner has complied all the essential requirements as stated in the Circular, it is appropriate for the respondent police to issue non traceable certificates.

In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to verify whether the documents produced by the petitioner are sufficient to conclude the enquiry and issue non traceable certificates. Thereafter, the investigation shall be completed within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With these observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
