Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.06.2019 in accordance with law by issuing house patta to Adi Dravida beneficiaries of Kotta Gounden Patti Village, Omalur Taluk, Salem District, as expeditiously as possible to secure the ends of justice.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.R.Sankarasubbu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Abishek Murthy, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

2. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents submitted that difficulties had arisen for rehabilitation of 180 Adi Dravida people living in a colony at Kottagoundampatty village, Salem. The lands were sought to be acquired. The process was also undertaken, however, because of the judgment of this Court in W.P.No.574 of 2021 dated 07.06.2021, the land could not be acquired. No further land is available in Kottaoundampatty Village, Salem, that can be acquired for the landless Adi-dravida people. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner can go to the adjacent villages also.

3. A representation has been given by the petitioner. The authority concerned shall take a decision upon the said representation

on its own merits and in accordance with law and policy within a period of one year.

The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
