Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the First Respondent to grant lien to the Petitioner so as to enable him to join as Direct/Professor at Second Respondent University and consequently directing the Second Respondent to extent the time for joining duty by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2017 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner states that he has no instructions from the Petitioner and she has made an endorsement to that effect in the court record. There does not appear to be any useful purpose being served in keeping the Writ Petition pending indefinitely.

In view of the same, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. It is made clear that the Petitioner is not precluded from applying for revival of the Writ Petition in accordance with law.
