The Assistant Commissioner of Police Respondent(s) PRAYER This Writ Petition (Criminal) is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ an order or a direction more specifically in the nature of writ of Mandamus regarding the inclusion of the name of the Petitioner in the nature Register of History Sheeters maintained by the respondents and remove the name of the petitioner from the register of History Sheeters of the respondents.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed to issue a writ or direction, more specifically in the

nature of a mandamus, regarding the inclusion of the name of the petitioner in the history sheet list.

2.When the matter came up for admission, the learned government (criminal side) would submit that the inspector of police has already made a request by considering the representation of the petitioner and the fact that all the criminal cases against the petitioner have now come to an end and there is no any criminal case for the past 5 years, and therefore, he has recommended the removal of the name from the history sheet, and the same is also forwarded to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, St Thomas Mount. Final orders will be passed. The recommendation of the deputy Commissioner of Police, Saint Thomas Mount, is also made, and it says that the history sheet as against the petitioner may be closed. In view thereof, formal orders are expected to be passed very soon, and it will be communicated to the petitioner. 3.In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms: (i)the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Saint Thomas Mount, shall pass final orders with reference to the closing of the history sheet as against the

petitioner in any event within a period of 3 weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order without waiting for the certified copy of the order, and the same shall be communicated to the petitioner. (ii) No costs.
