PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents, particularly the respondents 2 to 4 to issue Patta to the petitioners for the houses situated at Palapattu Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District, comprised in S.Nos.59/1 and 59/3 on the basis of representations dated 07.02.2011, 18.10.2024, 28.10.2024, 20.11.2024 and finally on 02.07.2025 sent by the petitioners. ORDER

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The present writ petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents, particularly respondents 2 to 4 to issue Patta to the petitioners for the houses situated at Palapattu Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District, comprised in S.Nos.59/1 and 59/3 on the basis of representations dated 07.02.2011, 18.10.2024, 28.10.2024, 20.11.2024 and finally on 02.07.2025 sent by the petitioners.

3. Learned Government Advocate would submit that the subject properties are classified as Government poromboke and thus petitioners would not be 2/4

normally entitled for the issuance of patta in their favour. In any view, he would submit that the above representations would be considered keeping in view the relevant Government orders and after affording the petitioners an opportunity of hearing in accordance with law, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioners.

4.In the light of the above, there shall be a direction to the concerned respondent, to consider the representations of the petitioners on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
