ORDER

This contempt petition has been filed for wilful disobedience of the order passed in WP No.20069 of 2022 dated 05.08.2022.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing counsel appearing on behalf of the Chennai Corporation submitted that they had sought for a report from the Chief Engineer of PWD in order to ascertain the condition of the building. An inspection was conducted and a report was submitted by the Superintendent Engineer, PWD on 24.03.2022. It is seen from the report that the building is Structurally sound and it is fit for occupation after retrofitting work which has to be carried out. The necessary Structural Stability certificate was also furnished before the Court.

In the light of the above development, the Chennai Corporation is directed to inform about this to the petitioner

within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is left open to the petitioner to work out her remedy in the manner known to law.
