This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the representation made by the petitioner wherein the petitioner has sought for appointment on compassionate grounds.

2. Heard Mr.A.Ramesh Manikandan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.K.Rajkumar, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that her husband was working as Line Inspector in the Electricity Department. He died in harness on 24.02.2023. The petitioner, who is the wife of the deceased Somasundaram, made an application seeking for appointment on compassionate grounds on 08.01.2024. The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of repeated representations, the application submitted by the petitioner for compassionate appointment was not considered. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the 2/4

case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 08.01.2024 and the subsequent representation made by the petitioner on 05.08.2024, on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass final orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the third respondent along with all relevant documents and a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
