This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for wilful and deliberate disobedience on the order of this Court in Crl.R.C.No.912 of 2019 dated 28.11.2019.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, Mr.S.Silambu Selvan, learned counsel for the respondent/contemnor would submit that the order of this Court is to make payment of Rs.5 lakhs to the petitioner. He would submit that the petitioner had been partially paying the amount and due to Corona and other financial conditions, the respondent/contemnor was unable to pay the remaining amount of Rs.1,25,000/-. However, he would submit that today (28.06.2023), he is paying the balance amount of Rs.1,25,000/- to the petitioner by way of demand draft as full settlement.

3.Ms.Suseela Devi, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is ready to accept the demand draft and she would seek that the contempt petition may be closed.

4. Heard the learned Counsels and perused the materials on record.

5. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the opinion that the respondent has not willingly committed any contempt and thereby, this Court is inclined to close the Contempt Petition. 2/4
