ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the trial court i.e., the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CCB and CBCID) at Egmore, Chennai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.16110 of 2008 and conclude the same within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

2. The petitioner faces trial in C.C.No.16110 of 2008 before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate [CCB and CBCID], at Egmore, Chennai and the petitioner is arrayed as the second Accused. The grievance of the petitioner is that out of 13 witnesses only 8 witnesses have been examined and the trial is getting adjourned time and again for want of further witness on the side of prosecution and two more witnesses have to be examined. It is the contention of the petitioner that she is aged 78 years and she is attending the Court for the past 18 years. Hence, the present petition has been filed to expedite the trial in the above case.

3. Considering the limited relief sought in this petition and without going in to the merits of the case, the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate [CCB and CBCID] at Egmore, Chennai to directed to expedite trial in C.C.No.16110 of 2008 and dispose of the case expeditiously.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
