The above criminal appeal has been filed against the judgment and sentence dated 27.08.2019 imposed in Special S.C.No.38 of 2016 on the file of the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for SC/ST Act Cases, Villupuram. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the appellant and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent.

It is contended by the learned counsel for the appellant that the alleged occurrence said to have taken place on 03.07.2015 and the appellant and others were charged for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 323, 324, 326, 506(ii) IPC r/w 3(1)(x) of SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989, but, the Sessions Court framed charges under amended Act i.e. 3(1)(r)(s) of SC/ST (PoA) Act, 2015, which came into force only on 31.12.2015 w.e.f.26.01.2016.
