The petitioners herein was arrested on 07.07.2025 based on prior information received by the respondent police that he, along with others, had planned to murder a member of the rival gang. It is a case of an attempt to eliminate a member of the rival gang in retaliation for an earlier murder. The information received by the respondent police and the investigation conducted have been detailed in the status report filed by the Inspector of Police, V-1, Villivakkam Police Station.
2. On perusal of the status report, this Court is of the view that the release of the petitioners on bail at this stage may not be appropriate, even the safety of the petitioners own life.
3. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed for the present.
