Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 27.08.2023 and to earmark a place in the new fish market constructed by the 2nd respondent in Pullukadu and to permit the petitioners to sell fish.

The petitioners herein seek a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 27.08.2023 and earmark a place in 2/6

the new fish market constructed by the 2nd respondent in Pullukadu and permit the petitioners to sell fish.

2.According to the petitioners, they engaged in retail selling of fish in the old fish market at Perur Main Road, Ukkadam. Now, for the purpose of construction of over-bridge, the petitioners were made to vacate Ukkadam fish market. Now, the 2nd respondent constructed a new fish market at Pullukadu. Therefore, the petitioners submitted a representation to the 2nd respondent, seeking allotment of separate area in the said market to enable the petitioners to engage in retail vending of fish. The said representation has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioners are before this Court. 3.Mr.P.Anandha Kumar, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents, on instructions, submits that the representation of the petitioners will be considered in accordance with law. 4.In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioners, without expressing any opinion on the claim made by the petitioners, this Court is inclined to issue direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation 3/6

of the petitioners, dated 27.08.2023 and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
