ORDER

(Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.) This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the body of his father Chandrasekar, S/o.Sivattaiah, aged about 62 years, before this Court and set him at liberty. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that his father Chandrasekar, aged about 62 years, went missing from 11.10.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure him.

Today, K.Ramesh (Mobile No.86678 88359), Sub-Inspector of Police, J-9, Thuraipakkam Police Station, Chennai, is present. 4.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner initially a case in

Thuraipakkam Police Station Crime No.374 of 2022 was registered on 11.10.2022 for "man missing"; while that being so, the police received information that an unidentified body was found near the railway track between Thiruvanmiyur and Tharamani and on enquiry, it was found that a case in Thiruvanmiyur Police Station Crime No.64 of 2022 was registered on 18.10.2022 under Section 174 Cr.P.C. in connection with the dead body of a male that was found near the railway track between Thiruvanmiyur and Tharamani; Thuraipakkam police informed the petitioner and together they went to the mortuary and identified the body as that of Chandrasekar, father of the petitioner. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor further submitted that after completing the formalities, the body of Chandrasekar was handed over to the petitioner on 20.10.2022 Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
