ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai, for speedy disposal of the Calendar Case No.9713 of 2003 pending on its file, within the time 1/4

limit stipulated by this Court.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had filed a complaint against the accused persons for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 323, 467, 468, 420 and 506(ii) IPC and the same is taken on file in C.C.No.9713 of 2003 by the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai. Though this case is pending from the year 2003, till now, it is not diposed of. Further, he submitted that even the charges are not framed from the year 2003. 3.It is pathetic that the case is pending from the year 2003 even without framing the charges. It is now seen from the status report filed by the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate that the second respondent/A2 has filed a discharge petition under Section 245 of Cr.P.C. and it is now pending in Crl.M.P.No.2581 of 2021.

4.Considering the fact that the case is pending from the year 2003, the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate is directed to dispose of the discharge petition as early as possible and take all endeavour to dispose 2/4

of the case in C.C.No.9713 of 2003 early, preferrably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 24.01.2023 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non speaking order sp To The V Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai.
