Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents, particularly respondents 1 to 6, to take necessary action to demolish the unauthorised construction, constructed in the ground-floor building situated at No.10, Manjula Street, Kanagammal Colony, Nanganallur, Chennai-600 061. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The learned counsel for the third respondent states that the Alandur Municipality has been merged with the Corporation and, thus, on 20.7.2015 they have addressed the Regional Joint Commissioner, Zone-South of the Corporation of Chennai, being the second respondent, to look into the grievance of the petitioner and take remedial action.

2. The learned counsel for the second respondent states that they will carry out an inspection of the premises within fifteen days from today and in case any unauthorized construction/deviation is found, will take action in accordance with law within a maximum period of two months thereafter, after notice to all concerned.

3. The aforesaid statement is taken on record and the second respondent will remain bound by the same.
