ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Ms.G.Uma Maheswari, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader assisted by Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 5.
2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the sixth respondent has encroached upon a waterbody.
3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that the petitioner is a habitual offender and he was required to be evicted, as he has encroached upon a temple property worth more than Rs.50 crores. He would further submit that the Tahsildar, Thiruvannamalai, along with a survey team, will be sent to the concerned Institute to conduct a survey and if at all any encroachment is found, steps would be taken in accordance with the existing Rules and law.
4. In view of the said submission, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. (S.V.G., CJ.) (P.D.A., J.) 15.09.2023 Index :
