ORDER
Both these Civil Revision Petitions had been filed seeking a direction to the VI Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai, to dispose of O.P.No.4264 of 2014 and O.P.No.327of 2015 which are now pending in the said Court.
2.During the pendency of the Revision Petitions, a small issue with respect to payment of arrears of maintenance came up and thereafter, Mr.S.Doraisamy, learned counsel who appears for the revision petitioner stated that towards arrears of maintenance a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- would be paid by way of Demand Draft and thereafter, every month a sum of Rs.60,000/- would be paid directly to the respondent herein. This was by order dated 23.07.2021, on that date, the actual monthly maintenance payable was fixed at Rs.50,000/-.
3.Today, it is represented that a demand draft has been purchased for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- as stated and it is also stated by Mr.S.Doraisamy, learned counsel that the arrears of maintenance amount would be continued to be paid at Rs.60,000/- every month. The arrears is Rs.3,50,000/- as on date and after that a sum or Rs.10,000/- would be paid as was determined by the Court.
4.It would also be in the interest of both the parties that both the Original Petitions namely, O.P.No.4264 of 2014 and O.P.No.327of 2015
are disposed of by the VI Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai. The learned Judge may keep in mind that the parties have been at lis for the past nearly half a decade and more and they expect the Court to dispose of the petitions within a time frame. 4.A report had been received from the VI Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai, wherein, he had stated that trial is to commence, and could not be commenced owing to the Covid-19 Pandemic situation and the learned Judge had requested a time limit of nine months to dispose of the two cases. I think that giving a period of nine months is little too much and with the experience, the learned Judge, should be able to dispose of the said two petitions with a period of six months. Accordingly, a outer time limit for disposing both the Original Petitions namely, O.P.No.4264 of 2014 and O.P.No.327of 2015 is fixed at 31.01.2022 .
5.I hope that the learned counsels would advise their respective parties to co-operate with the Court for speedy disposal of the Original Petitions. No further orders are required. The Civil Revision Petitions are closed. No costs.
