O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by K.K. SASIDHARAN,J.) This Court, by order dated 24.11.2016 in W.P. No. 40316 of 2016, directed the respondents to pay to the petitioner ex gratia gratuity in terms of Rule 6(14) of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules within a period of eight weeks.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, by producing a copy of the order dated 21.01.2019 submitted that the order of this Court dated 24.11.2016 has already been complied with.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the prayer in the original application is to pay service benefits together with gratuity, retirement benefits with all attendant and consequential benefits. Therefore, the order passed by the respondents would not meet the prayer made in the original application. 4.
Eventhough the prayer in the original application is for a larger relief, this Court only directed the respondents to pay ex gratia gratuity to the
petitioner. It is always open to the petitioner to claim the remaining benefits from the respondents in case, he is eligible for such benefits, in accordance with law. 5.
The contempt petition is closed with the above observation.
